Reviews
“As the opening chords of the title number blare out across the arena, a
stunning mystery woman takes to the stage, beaming from ear to ear.
Shimmying down the skeletal stairs that form the centrepiece of the set,
Boyd delivered the majority of the highlights, her vibrant voice tingling
the spine throughout Out Here On My Own.”
Edinburgh Evening News [April 2001]
“…many of the songs were belted out magnificently by rising theatre star
Debbie Boyd.”
Kentish Times [June 2001]
“The stars – soulful Gwen Dickey, formerly lead singer with hitmakers
Rose Royce, and smoky-voiced Limahl who was frontman for the chart-topping
Kajagoogoo in the 80s – are ably supported by the sexy Debbie Boyd, who
revealed that she was born in Inverness but must have left at a very early
age or we would all have noticed her shapely form, long legs and big blonde
hair. Boyd, who indulged in some dirty dancing on a bluesy ‘Hound Dog’ and
Donna Summer’s ‘Hot Stuff’, also delivered the goods on ‘Out Here On My
Own’, the big ballad from “Fame”.
Inverness
Courier [July 2001]
“Debbie Boyd, who held the ear and eye whenever she appeared or had a
solo. Both newcomers were good value and Boyd came close to stealing the
show."
The Stage [June 2001]
“Dean Hussain and Debbie Boyd provided strong, charismatic support. Both
are big talents to watch out for.”
Bradford Telegraph [May 2001]
“…they shared the stage with the very talented Debbie Boyd, who did a
particularly raunchy version of Elvis’ Hound Dog among many other songs.”
Darlington Evening Gazette [May 2001]
